Since its inception, the Armstrong Student Center has been a campus hub “by students, for students.” Every Miami student contributes to the student center through the student center fee, making it essential that student voices help guide its operations, programming, and strategic direction. The board plays a pivotal role in shaping the student experience, ensuring that the center remains a welcoming, dynamic, and student-focused hub.
Leading this effort is the Armstrong Student Center Board, which was formed prior to construction of the building in 2013. The advisory board consists of fifteen members. Appointed representatives from Associated Student Government, Miami Activities and Programming, Diversity Affairs Council and SEAL Ambassadors serve on the board along with at-large members serving two-year terms. At-large members tend to be involved with various student organizations around campus since these groups are a core part of Armstrong’s student-centered mission.
The Armstrong Student Center and the student board would not have been possible without former ASG leaders who pushed for the building to become a reality, generous alumni contributions, and the support of many Miami University leaders.
