Job Title: Communications and Program Support Specialist
Job Summary:

Scripps Gerontology Center is seeking a Communications and Program Support Specialist to support the organization’s communications platforms and programmatic priorities. Scripps is a successful research organization with a strong record of external funding, achieved through a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and positive impact.

Duties/Physical Demands:
  • Work with leadership team to update content and maintain currency of organizational websites
  • Work with authors to create data visualizations and final formatting for presentations and for printed materials including grant proposals and research reports
  • Manage digital files and archives of reports, publicity, and brochures
  • Work with research dissemination lead to review, update, and maintain standards for graphics, formatting, and dissemination of research reports, newsletters, articles, and related materials
  • Gather information for and create internal and external newsletters
  • Provide support for large-scale surveys through management of contact lists, supervision of student workers, and assistance with SNAP software and helpline calls
  • Lead production of materials for training sessions for Opening Minds through Art program
  • Assist with recruitment, admissions, matriculation, and graduation processes for graduate programs in gerontology
  • Facilitate the work of the center through customer support, back-up, and assistance with office procedures and projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:

Relevant associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated ability to create and understand data tables, graphs, and charts; experience with Microsoft office applications, Adobe Creative Suite, and Adobe Pro; experience with CollegeNet CRM; good editing and proofreading skills and experience with APA formatting; experience with SNAP survey software.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in higher education or similar setting; knowledge of the aging network and external funding procedures in the field of gerontology; familiarity with Scholarly Commons.
