Job Summary:

Armstrong Student Center Ambassadors provide exemplary customer service to visitors and patrons of Miami’s campus and the Armstrong Student Center. ASC is the most public building on campus, and thus our Ambassadors sit at what feels like the campus front desk. Ambassadors offer the first impression of the Armstrong Student Center and provide centralized information to the campus and Oxford community.

Work assignments require limited direction and supervision.
Experience or specialized knowledge in the area required.
Ability to provide training or tutorial consultation for employees or students.
Assist faculty in planning or producing instructional materials.
Work directly with management in technical tasks.

Essential Duties:

* Independently run the information desk for the Armstrong Student Center (ASC) by answering the phone and emails
* Provide excellent customer service to all alumni, staff, students, and visitors of ASC
* Respond to questions using knowledge of the building, campus, and Oxford to help aid clients
* Ability to find answers and provide resources by using available tools (internet, maps, guides, etc.)
* Manage the study room check out process in ASC including room keys, checking people in, and reserving rooms utilizing specialized software
* Assist other building staff with building operations
* Facilitate and maintain the systematic cataloging of all items found and items reported lost in the building
* Maintain cleanliness of the information desk and lost and found storage at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

* At least one semester on campus
* Previous customer service experience
* Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at once
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong problem solving skills
