Job Summary: |
The Honors College is seeking a creative individual with a strong interest in social media, marketing, and design to assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of Honors College social platforms. As a Social Media Specialist, you will be working with Honors staff to evaluate current social media practices and develop strategies and content to strengthen our online presence and increase user engagement. This person will report to Christian Morrow, our program coordinator and academic advisor.
Maintain, grow, and track the Honors College social media accounts, ensuring an engaging online presence and community.

Essential Duties: |
-Develop content for social media sites (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn, and other sites.) -Cultivate an appropriate posting schedule, considering web traffic and consumer engagement metrics -Research social media best practices and stay current with social media trends -Track and review social media analytics and report results -Suggest new ways to attract audiences, like promotions or competitions -This may include basic photography/videography and marketing design -Attend Honors College events to provide documentation support
Work assignments require limited direction and supervision. Experience or specialized knowledge in the area required. Ability to provide training or tutorial consultation for employees or students. Work directly with management on technical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Current student in the Honors College Interest in working in the field of social media, communications, and marketing Experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn Excellent writing and communications skills Creative thinking and problem-solving skills Good time-management skills and ability to be proactive |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Excellent knowledge of Instagram, Twitter, and other social media best practices Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms for a club or organization Major or minor in marketing, media and culture, emerging technology in business design, interactive media studies, strategic communication, communication design, or other relevant field Experience in market research and/or data analytics Experience with video creation/editing |
