Assistant/Associate Professor

Job Summary:

The Mechanical and Manufacturing Department seeks multiple Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track) positions for its growing engineering programs, including Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing, to teach undergraduate and master’s level engineering courses; advise students; maintain an active research agenda, and provide service to the department and university. The start date is August 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Ph.D. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as an Assistant Professor (ABD’s may apply but all degree requirements must be completed by date of appointment). Doctorate is required by December 31, 2024 for appointment to a second year. Appointment to the rank of Associate Professor requires an established record of high-quality teaching and research funding.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with research activities in i) Smart Manufacturing/Factory Systems (MES, data analytics, digital twin, etc.) and ii) Automation (sensors and instrumentation, controls, machine learning, networked multi-agent systems, manufacturing systems, etc.), and (iii) Modelling and design (CAD/CAM/CAE) including thermal design and energy systems areas and teaching experience, industrial and/or post-doctoral appointments or a record of grant funding and scholarly publications.
