Job Summary:

This position will support research in genetics and behavior using Drosophila on the Oxford campus. The student researcher will work as a team and independently to answer questions about the evolution of behavior.

Essential Duties:

Assisting with the maintenance of Drosophila stocks. Conducting crosses and behavioral experiments. Keeping notes of experiments and the lab organized. Assisting with data entry and planning experimental schedules. Training other student employees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Current student at Miami in the Biological field.
-Have an interest in evolution and/or genetics
- Ability to follow written protocols
- Ability to arrive on time and maintain a consistent schedule
-Ability to work independently
-Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Previous research experience in behavior.
- Must be able to work under a variety of environmental conditions, including warm and humid temperature inside a walk-in grown chamber
