Job Summary:

The Office for Transformational and Inclusive Excellence (OTIE) seeks a Student Associate for Fall 2024 to join efforts to advance inclusive excellence at Miami University. This student leadership position will help with social media content, event logistics support, and other administrative tasks within the office. Students in this role will support the office in providing student perspective and insight, as we work together to cultivate inclusive strategies, initiatives, and capacity-building efforts to make a more inclusive Miami for all.

Essential Duties:

The Student Associate will assist OTIE staff:
● Curating content to engage students, faculty, and staff on social media.
● Creating promotional materials through Canva for events, workshops, and other initiatives
● Support Heritage and History Month programming, Interfaith Series, conferences led by the
office, and other such efforts out of OTIE
● Promote events and resources at tabling events and other spaces, to increase the visibility of the office
● Visit student organization meetings to promote OTIE and our resources
● Support efforts around inventory tracking and management with OTIE staff
● Assist in researching and implementing educational content and resources
● Assist with general office support such as answering phones, replying to emails, and greeting
visitors in a positive manner

Minimum Qualifications:

● ​​Current Miami University student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or
higher.
● Familiarity with campus resources, departments, offices, and services available at the University.
● Strong written and verbal communication (including copy editing and proofreading ability).
● Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
● Proficient in at least a few social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
● Strong computer skills including Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn
new programs.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Comfortable with email as a primary means of communication.
● A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (connected to any field of study)
● Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
