Job Summary:

Miami University’s Communications and Marketing department has been charged with building and maintaining the university’s brand on a local, regional, and national stage. This dynamic and award-winning team is comprised of nearly 70 marketing and communications professionals and is looking to hire a project manager.

The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and finalizing projects within the Communications and Marketing department. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.

This position has been approved for remote work. Remote work is not a right, it is a work arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason, including the convenience of the University.

Duties/Physical Demands:

● Develop comprehensive project plans, defining project objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets in alignment with communications and marketing strategies.
● Lead project execution, overseeing tasks, schedules, and milestones, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
● Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, potential risks, and solutions.
● Collaborate with marketing, storytelling, academic marketing, enrollment marketing, and operations teams to ensure cohesive project integration and successful delivery.
● Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges proactively.
● Manage project budgets and resources effectively, optimizing utilization while controlling costs.
● Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and align with marketing and communications objectives.
● Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluation reports for continuous improvement.
● Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or
relevant field
● 1-3 years of experience in project management
● The project manager must obtain their Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification within 1 year of employment. Miami will provide funding for the coursework and exam.

Desired Qualifications:

● Additional certifications in project management are preferred.
● Project management experience within a communications or marketing environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

● Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Monday, etc.) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
● Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
