Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor

Job Summary:

Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology and graduate courses in Athletic Training. Appointments are for August 2024-May 2025 with the possibility of renewal depending on available funding and performance.  Faculty in the Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health provide a quality learning experience for students, supervise student research projects, serve on institutional committees, and are committed to diversity and inclusive excellence.

In working towards realizing the College’s vision, the Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health advances the science and practice of human movement and health behaviors to enhance quality of life, improve client/patient outcomes, and reduce local and global health disparities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate in Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or closely related field, by date of appointment, for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor. Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or closely related field, by date of appointment, for appointment as an Instructor. Certified and in good standing as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) and licensed and in good standing (or eligible) as an Athletic Trainer by the state of Ohio’s Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with: 1) experience teaching a variety of kinesiology and/or athletic training courses at the college level; 2) working knowledge of Commission on Accreditation Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation standards and 2020 CAATE Curricular Content; 3) experience as a clinically practicing Athletic Trainer and preceptor; 4) a clinically-oriented certification (e.g., ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist); 5) experience working with multicultural and/or diverse populations; 6) experience teaching hybrid or fully online as well as face-to-face courses.
