Job Summary: |
Coordinator of Strategy and Assessment to advance strategic planning, to coordinate assessment and organizational effectiveness of Library initiatives, and to direct projects and assignments within the University Libraries. This position requires a candidate with excellent project management skills, proactive planning, adaptability, and a customer service focus who will respond with flexibility to a wide variety of multiple and shifting priorities. The University Libraries are engaged in an annual continuing strategic planning process (lib.miamioh.edu/strategic/) in concert with the University's strategic plan. Duties/Physical Demands: |
The Coordinator of Strategy & Assessment will have the following duties:
•Strategic planning and initiatives: Oversee Catalyst, the Libraries’ strategic planning process. Catalyst is a yearly strategic plan, with overarching goals and yearly initiatives that connect to the goals. It is an iterative process, so many of the routines and processes stay consistent each year. This position coordinates the overall activities of Catalyst. The Libraries’ staff serve as facilitators and workgroup members to complete the initiatives. Coordinate the development of other strategic initiatives, programs or events as requested or needed.
•Organizational Effectiveness: Coordinate assessment activities for the libraries - primarily serving on university assessment committees and completing the libraries’ annual assessment report. Prepares, presents, and disseminates institutional assessment and effectiveness findings to senior leadership and other institutional stakeholders.
•Student Leadership Academy: Oversee the development, implementation, and execution of the Student Leadership Academy, a leadership development program for student employees at the Libraries. Currently, this is a one-year program, which will eventually expand to a four-year program.
•Transformational and Inclusive Excellence: Facilitate inclusive excellence efforts at the Libraries and manage collaboration with campus-level transformational and inclusive excellence initiatives. Co-chair the Libraries’ Transformational and Inclusive Excellence Committee. Supervise the OhioLINK Luminaries student(s) and coordinate the program within the Libraries. Luminaries is a program designed to recruit individuals into the field of librarianship. Serves on other university-wide or OhioLINK committees as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Required: Bachelor's degree and three years of post-baccalaureate experience.

Desired Qualifications: |
Consideration may be given to candidates with: Master's degree in Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Library Science or Information Science; Experience in conducting assessment projects and in documenting data and providing recommendations for improvement; experience working in an academic library; Demonstrated ability to advance multiple projects in a team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work; Strong organizational skills; leadership skills, with ability to function independently, take initiative, and set goals and priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience with writing and/or seeking external funding.
