Job Summary: |
Provost & VP of Academic Affairs: The Coordinator for Undergraduate Research will provide administrative support and manage implementation of ORU sponsored programs and events, collaborate with the director to support the vision and strategic goals of the office, serve as the point person for communications, plan and execute the undergraduate research forum, and represent the office at university events to raise the visibility of undergraduate research. The Office of Research for Undergraduates [ORU] focuses on promoting the engagement of students in research and creative efforts, increasing the overall quality of undergraduate research at Miami as evidenced through publications, grants, and fellowships, and broadening participation of students and faculty across disciplines.

Duties/Physical Demands: |
The Coordinator for Undergraduate Research will: •Provide administrative support and management of ORU sponsored programs [USS, URA, DUOS, FYRE] including financial/budget management and electronic data records for annual reporting; scheduling and planning ORU events. •Collaborate with the ORU director to support ORU’s strategic goals and vision; assist in implementing initiatives to expand campus-wide participation in undergraduate research experiences; assist director in program assessment, develop and manage office budget. •Serve as point of contact for ORU communications with the university community (Website management, Monthly newsletter, Social Media presence) and with departments as it relates to ORU sponsored programs, including correspondence with faculty, staff and students. •Plan, coordinate, direct, and promote the university-wide celebration of the undergraduate research (UR Forum); a celebration of collaborations between students and their research mentors, and a showcase of their accomplishments. •Represent the Office of Research for Undergraduates at university events to encourage stakeholders (prospective students, faculty, staff, current students) to understand and participate in an array of undergraduate research and creative activities across disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Required: Bachelor's degree by date of appointment.

Desired Qualifications: |
Consideration may be given to candidate with Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, educational psychology, psychology, student affairs, social work, or related fields, familiarity with navigating institutional databases for data retrieval and analysis, understanding of learning management platforms such as Canvas; working knowledge of WordPress application and infographics platform; strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, detail oriented; efficient with time management.
