Job Summary: |
Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in social work, family science, and/or child life depending upon expertise and department need in the Department of Family Science and Social Work. Appointment begins August 19, 2024 with the possibility of renewal for up to five years contingent on performance and funding.
The College of Education, Health and Society (EHS) was founded in 1902. The College of Education, Health, and Society was Miami University’s first professional school and home to Miami’s first graduate of color. CEHS continues to lead the way with the highest percentage of diverse students and faculty across the university. The College embraces the rich opportunities available for cross-disciplinary collaboration across its six departments (Educational Leadership; Educational Psychology; Family Science and Social Work; Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health; Sport Leadership and Management; and Teacher Education).

Minimum Qualifications: |
Ph.D. or terminal degree in Family Science or Social Work or closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor; Master’s (or ABD) in Family Science or Social Work or closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Instructor.

Desired Qualifications: |
Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated commitment to social justice and anti-oppression in teaching and practice; applied professional experience, including but not limited to a minimum of five years practice experience post master’s degree achievement; those holding licensure (e.g., LSW, LISW, LISW-S) social worker; and experience teaching hybrid or fully online as well as face-to-face courses.
