Job Summary: |
The Student Learning Community Coordinator (SLCC) will work closely with the Resident Director for the Scholar Leader living-learning community (LLC) to provide direction and support the success of Stoddard and Elliott halls as well as LLC. This position requires the Student Learning Community Coordinator to reside in their assigned on-campus apartment throughout the term of their appointment. The Student Learning Community Coordinator's primary responsibilities will include cultivating a positive and engaging living environment within the LLC, advising a student-led Scholar Leader cluster associated with program development, assisting with the Scholar Leader recruitment and selection process, building the Scholar Leader social media presence, facilitating one on one conversations with Scholar Leaders about their leadership development goals, and managing mail services within the halls. This team member will also serve to assist the Resident Director in providing support and accountability for the community and complete other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties: |
Administrative Tasks Assist the RD with administrative tasks for the communities including but not limited to: Assisting with the opening and closing of Stoddard and Elliott Halls in August and May Managing mailbox key distribution and serve as the primary point of contact for students who have concerns with their mail Documenting all keys in mailbox number document and putting in work orders should keys be missing Designing flyers for Scholar Leader Events that the SLCC will plan Attending weekly scholar leader Fellow/Returner meetings and cluster meetings for clusters the SLCC advises Meet weekly with RD and keep Stoddard Elliott RAs informed of anything that comes up in the community as appropriate Attend Residence Life team meetings with RAs Assist with Bishop, Stoddard, & Elliott duty rotation as needed Community Engagement Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment for Scholar Leader LLC students that enables them to build lasting relationships and to foster a sense of belonging Attend and facilitate sessions at Scholar Leader Retreat* Advise the Scholar Leader Programming Cluster for Stoddard and Elliott Halls. Work with the RD to coordinate, plan, and establish biweekly community meetings and regular community programming for Scholar Leader LLC Assist RD and Residence Life/Wilks Staff in the planning and implementation of a service learning trip/conference in the Spring Semester Assist in traditional Scholar Leader programming Build alumni connections working with Wilks Leadership Institute & the Office of Residence Life Planning/leading 1-2 leadership development/inclusive leadership programs per month in addition to Pillar programming led by RAs and Professional staff team Hold office hours in Elliott Hall Office Recruitment & Selection Work with the recruitment & selection cluster/committee to coordinate CLT visits for all first year hall communities in the Fall semester The SLCC and a returning Scholar Leader(s) will attend every CLT in the fall to talk about the Scholar Leader LLC Assist with RA, SLCC, and Scholar Leader interviews Build the Scholar Leader social media presence in conjunction with Wilks Fellows, the community, and staff. Other duties as assigned by Scholar Leader LLC Professional Staff in the Office of Residence Life Leadership Development Complete 1:1 meetings with Scholar Leaders geared towards their individual career and leadership development goals Assist in the development and coordination of Scholar Leader alumni engagement Coordinate Cluster creation and assignment alongside Resident Director

Minimum Qualifications: |
Must be enrolled as a student at Miami University’s Oxford campus Must have prior experience working in the Office of Residence Life, the Wilks Institute for Leadership and service, and/or previous Scholar Leader LLC experience Must have a current GPA of at least a 2.5 or higher and must maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 or higher during employment

Interest in pursuing a career in or graduate school for student affairs and higher education Be an undergraduate student at Miami University’s Oxford campus.
