Job Summary: |
The Berberich Lab performs research in protein engineering and applied biocatalysis. We use genetic and protein engineering methods to develop enzymes with enhanced stability and activity. We use techniques in polymer chemistry and materials science to design protein- polymer conjugates and materials. This requires the design and implementation of a variety of molecular cloning and microbial fermentation techniques and polymer chemistry and immobilization methods that are highly technical in nature and require training and practice to successfully implement. The degree to which these tasks are done independently will be determined by the description below:

Essential Duties: |
Student will perform laboratory experiments under supervision and guidance from principle investigator or other more experienced students in the laboratory. Student will demonstrate independence on tasks for which they have been previously trained. Student will typically have 0.5 - 1.5 years and/or 90-270 hours of research laboratory experience. Student will have minimal supervisory expectations.
