Job Summary: |
This position is for a student assistant at the MUM Tutoring and Learning Center. Student Assistants are stationed at the front desk to answer calls and help both clients and coworkers with questions related to the Center. Hired applicants will also have the opportunity to work at the Hamilton campus as well.
Work assignments are completed under close supervision. Procedures and policies are well-established and provided to employees upon hire. Supervisors are easily-accessible and will provide opportunities for development of professional skills.

Essential Duties: |
Duties encompass two main areas:
Student Services and Communication - Scheduling, canceling, and checking appointments for students and student tutors - Answering the phone and checking emails/voicemails for the TLC inbox, and giving callbacks - to students as needed - Taking detailed and accurate messages - Referring students to other staff members, resources, or offices on campus - Attending semesterly paid trainings to stay up to date with our procedures - Coordinating with staff members to launch and maintain updated policies and procedures - Handling confidential and/or sensitive information - Accurate data entry - Use of Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Use of Google Drive and other GSuite services
Office management - Making copies and printing for other staff members - Keeping the main floor of the office and the testing room clean and organized - Occasionally, restocking parts of the office with TLC supplies - Occasionally, inventorying office supplies
Other duties are discussed and assigned on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Current Miami Student A 3.0 GPA or higher
|
Preferred Qualifications: |
A 3.3 GPA or above Customer service experience Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
