Job Summary:

The purpose of the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Program is to create opportunities on campus to learn the QPR Bystander Intervention model. QPR teaches individuals how to recognize and respond to a peer who is considering suicide. This program aims to reduce mental health stigma on campus and to train students in the intervention modality. Hours per week will vary depending on the week.

Work assignments require advanced knowledge, skills, or abilities.
Some independent judgment or initiative.
A considerable knowledge of the work process as obtained through on-the-job training.
May involve supervisory responsibilities for an activity of limited scope.
May require a significant amount of physical exertion, adverse hour, or working conditions.

Essential Duties:

The Program Coordinator will:

Identify QPR program goals and opportunities
Develop program infrastructure, for effective implementation
Research curriculum that would be beneficial to future QPR Educators, and create a curriculum for student learning

Minimum Qualifications: Current Miami Student
At least one full year as a full-time college student
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Must have already completed QPR master training and have provided, at minimum, two QPR training sessions
