MUH Student Lab Assistant -- Student Assistant Hamilton Campus

Salary/Grade:

$12.30 / hr

Hours per week:

4-8

Duration of Appointment:

12 months or less

Job description Summaries: Open to all current Miami University students.
Assist with science laboratory set-ups, tear-downs, and clean-ups. Assist with aquarium maintenance.
Science laboratories involved are: Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and Physical Science.
Perform additional lab-related duties as require.
Essential Duties:

• Student will help maintain the cleanliness, organization and safety of all laboratory spaces
• Help prep labs under the direction of the Science Laboratory Coordinator and/or the Science
Laboratory Manager
• Assist with aquarium maintenance
• Maintain materials such as preserved specimens, living plants and/or animals
• Clean glassware and equipment
• Clean specimen slides
• Perform basic microscope cleaning
• Follow safety guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Completed a science course with a lab and received a "B" or better
2. Ability to communicate
3. Attention to detail and can follow directions
4. Team player
5. Professionalism
