The Information Security Office has an opening for a student employee to aid in the handling of cybersecurity reviews and risk assessments for both on-premise developed applications and cloud based services.

You will join a very capable, customer-oriented team that performs a range of security roles on campus from security awareness to security operations, security consulting, threat research, and more. Additional responsibilities include compliance audits to ensure adherence to internal standards and assisting with security awareness programs. The position may involve a considerable amount of independent research on specific projects related to cybersecurity.

Minimum Qualifications:

-An information security background.
-Preferred concentration in Information Security or Information Technology
-Skills in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets and Docs.
-Skill with programming languages such as Python, JAVA, and/or SQL. Knowledge of network infrastructure including VLANS and firewalls.
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Critical thinking skills
-Conscientious and attentive to detail
-Ability to work effectively within a team environment
-Able to maintain confidentiality while handling and viewing confidential information
-Must uphold, enforce and abide by all University policies
-Selected students must complete a background check with Miami University Police Department or HireRight.
