Job Title: Regional Orientation Coordinator (ROC) - Student Associate - Hamilton
Salary/Grade:

$11.45 to 12.45/hr

Hours per Week:

20-39

May of 2023 through May of 2024

Job Summary:

Regional Orientation Coordinators (ROCs) are student staff that provide increased support at Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR) programs at Miami Hamilton and Miami Middletown campuses. ROCs are positive role models who assist new students in transitioning to Miami University Regionals. ROCs should have a passion for the Miami Regionals experience, knowledge of campus, a desire to help others, and enjoy working as a part of a team.

Essential Duties:

Actively participate in all SOAR sessions as presenters, mentors, and task managers

Communicate professionally to campus stakeholders both orally and written

Actively mentor ROL staff

Give tours to Pathways students on non-traditional SOAR dates

Assist with essential orientation tasks as needed (such as check-in, stuffing folders, calling students to confirm registrations, directing students) before, during, and after orientation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have served as a Regional Orientation Leader (ROL) for at least 1 orientation season at Miami, or at least 1 season in a similar role at another school with a positive supervisor recommendation

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Will require permission to work from home (remote) due to Covid-19 restrictions on space limitations, and the number of student workers required to run orientation.
