Pathways Program
The Pathways Programs is for students who had a solid academic record in high school but who were not initially admitted to selective majors on Miami University’s main campus in Oxford. Through Pathways, students begin their Miami education as Exploratory Studies students on the Oxford campus.
Advising
Though many Pathways students have a major declared upon entering Miami, they are considered Exploratory Studies students until they complete the Pathways requirements.
Student Success Navigators advise these students during orientation, and throughout their first academic year, to ensure they gain admission to the Oxford campus. After orientation, Pathways students with a declared major are strongly encouraged to also meet with their major advisor early in their first semester to stay on track for graduation.
Pathways students should plan to meet with their Student Success Navigator at least twice a semester during their time in the program.

About the Program
Pathways is an intensive learning program designed to set students up for success on the Oxford campus. The only differences between Pathways student experiences and those of other Miami Oxford students are:
- Most core courses are taught (in Oxford) by Miami faculty who are based on our Regional campuses.
- Students are placed in the Exploratory Studies program and are advised by a Student Success Navigator.
- Tuition is at the Miami Regionals rate, not the Miami Oxford rate, until the Pathways program is completed.

Preparing to Transition to the Oxford Campus
A Student Success Navigator in the Exploratory Studies program will assist you with the necessary steps for enrollment and course registration. Note that all Pathways students are required to take the First-Year Experience Course: UNV 101 in the fall.
If you’ve met the requirements, you’ll have full access to register for Oxford classes for the following academic year. You’ll meet individually with your Success Navigator to plan your schedule and select classes.
You can continue to pursue relocation through the Regional campuses. After completing 16 total credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA, you can transition to taking part or all of your classes at the Oxford campus.
Yes. To participate, students register online at the Fraternity and Sorority Life website. Eligibility requirements include: 2.50+ GPA, 12 credit hours completed, and full-time student status on the Oxford campus.
