Students with a GPA below 2.5 in the fall semester may be eligible for academic support in the spring. Please note that we cannot make exceptions for students whose GPA does not meet the eligibility criteria.
Students in this GPA range can participate in Miami Thrive, a two-credit, graded course offered during Winter Term that is designed to improve academic performance. The course runs January 2–23, 2026 (Monday–Thursday, 1–2 p.m. ET). To enroll, register through Banner Self Service (CRN: 10599).
Over 90% of students who participated in Miami Thrive in the past three years improved their GPA and returned to Miami for the fall semester.
Students with a GPA below 2.0 can enroll in TCE 110: Learning Strategies for College Success, a 2-credit hour course designed to help students improve academically. The course covers time management, study strategies, motivation, and test-taking techniques.
