The Bernard B. Rinella, Jr. Learning Center helps students achieve their academic goals. We can help you build academic skills and help you understand difficult course concepts. From tutoring and supplemental instruction to workshops and coaching, our programs can help you reach your full academic potential.
The Bernard B. Rinella, Jr. Learning Center offers two tutoring options for students seeking assistance. Our peer tutoring is led by highly-trained Miami students who have excelled in their respective subjects. Additionally, our partnership with Tutor.com provides 24/7 access to professional staff tutors. All of our tutoring services are free for Miami students.
Programs and services offered through the Rinella Learning Center have been developed to help all students reach their academic goals. Share your concerns with us, and we will respond to your request within 48 hours.
Our academic support services are designed to engage students in the learning process, encourage higher levels of academic performance, develop critical thinking skills, and promote student self-authorship in the classroom. We help students assess existing learning strategies and implement new ones.
Through our leadership and employment experiences, you can gain valuable skills for your future career or graduate studies. We offer internships for graduate students and several positions for undergraduate students. Our graduate interns teach, perform academic coaching, and do administrative work. Undergraduate students serve as tutors, Supplemental Instruction leaders, and/or learning ambassadors. We also offer opportunities for students to become undergraduate associates to assist instructors in the classroom.
Our enrichment programs help you connect with the resources you need to excel academically and complete your degrees. It can be challenging to navigate the complex institutional structure here at Miami, but as a Scholastic Enhancement Program (SEP) student or Access Fellow, you have a built-in support network to make the process easier. We're eager to work with you to help you achieve academic success.
Testing services are available to all faculty members at Miami University through the Rinella Learning Center. Only students registered with Student Disability Services and who qualify for testing accommodations can take their exams through the RLC Testing Center.
