Assistant Teaching Professor

Job Summary:

Assistant Teaching Professor to support the Physician Associate Studies Program by providing lecture and lab instruction, academic advising, serving on program and university committees; and participation in local, state, regional and national professional activities in support of the program and the profession.

The Assistant Teaching Professor will teach (lecture/lab) and work closely with the Program and Academic Directors to ensure compliance with educational objectives within the didactic phase of the PA program; provide guidance and mentorship consistent with the department policies, program goals and course specific objectives; contribute to curricular development; examination preparation, delivery, and student feedback; assessing student’s progress; participate in mentorship programs and communication with students and peers; assist in the remediation program, program/course evaluations, and data collection and analysis to support ARC-PA self-assessment process; serve on committees assigned by Program Director and assist with the program’s student selection process.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree and be a Physician Assistant/Associate or M.D./D.O. with current board certification and licensing eligibility for the state of Ohio.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstration of ethical practice in accordance with standards of care; effective small and large group communication skills, knowledge of educational practices and processes; with a doctoral degree; a minimum of 4 years clinical experience; general knowledge and proficiency in didactic lecture and instruction; interest in marketing, analytic and outcome skills; utilization of competency-based materials for PA education; awareness of and adaptability of various trends in educational methodologies for teaching; ability to assist in didactic and clinical curriculum development and review; work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
