Job Summary: |
Academic Advisor & Student Success Technology Specialist to provide academic advising and academic success outreach to undergraduate students pursuing baccalaureate and associate degrees offered at Miami University Regionals. This includes academic planning, connecting advisees with appropriate university resources, communicating relevant information verbally and electronically, and teaching student success courses. Provide technical support for campus & divisional student success platforms and related data reporting.

The Academic Advisor & Student Success Technology Specialist will: |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Master’s degree, which must be earned by the appointment date. Minimum six (6) months of full-time student success experience in a university or college setting. Experience gained during a graduate program can apply (graduate experience is prorated; 1 semester of an assistantship is equivalent to 2.25 months of full-time experience). |
Desired Qualifications: |
Consideration may be given to candidates with a master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, psychological counseling, or related field; Nine (9) months or more of full-time advising experience in a university or college setting; Understanding of student development theory; experience working with diverse student populations; Understanding the purpose and advantages of a liberal arts education; Excellent written and oral communication (including public speaking), organization, technological and collaborative skills; Experience with technology such as: Banner, uAchieve (degree audits), Student Success platforms (ex: Navigate/Starfish), Slate, and Google Suite. Must be able to work collaboratively on a team, including the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations. Demonstrated experience using technology, report generation, and data analyses. |
