Chair & Associate or Full Professor

Job Summary:

Department Chair and Associate or Full Professor to be the academic and administrative leader and to manage the work of the Department of Media, Journalism, and Film. Position to begin July 1, 2024. Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, scheduling, supervising, and mentoring; enhancing the academic program; supporting research; overseeing curriculum, facilities, alumni outreach; helping to elaborate and implement a vision for the department and the department’s future direction; recruiting faculty and students; providing guidance and evaluation for promotion and tenure and departmental fiscal management; leading the faculty to achieve professional and departmental goals; working with staff, students, and other constituents; continuing to teach and perform research duties as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. and the rank of Associate or Full Professor and tenure in the Department of Media, Journalism, and Film; excellent record of accomplishment in teaching and research, and administrative experiences suggesting a demonstrated ability to lead an academic department.
