Job Title:

Audiology Aide / Audiology Aide Trainee - Miami Speech & Hearing Clinic

Job Summary:

Audiology Aide or Audiology Aide Trainee in the Miami Speech and Hearing Clinic specifically trained to support licensed Audiologists in specialized aspects of testing, equipment management, and record-keeping in the clinic setting. If not state-licensed, you will be hired into an Audiology Aide Trainee role and provided observation and training hours needed before moving to an Audiology Aide role.

Duties/Physical Demands:

Audiology Aide/Audiology Aide Trainee duties include:
• Test assistant for pediatrics and the elderly in confirming and collecting behavioral responses.
• Patient preparation for various types of testing offered in the clinic.
• Collect and provide patient pre-test screenings and instructions.
• Collect and organize records requested.
• Maintain loaner hearing aid stock and manages database.
• Maintain organization and cleaning of the clinic while following infection control procedures.
• Order and stock supplies across sites.
• Document in the electronic medical record-Practice Perfect and Noah, as necessary.
• Maintain organization of clinic space, equipment, and supplies in all settings in which audiology services are offered.
• Patient coordination of instructions for appointments.
• Maintain organization of clinical equipment, clinical and research files and records.
• Enter data into databases and extracting data as needed.
• Schedule return of ear molds, hearing aids, accessories, and supplies to families.
• Communicate with families and outside professionals/organizations, as directed and requested, following HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma for appointment as Audiology Aide Trainee; must complete an approved training program prescribed by an approved application to the Ohio Board of Speech and Hearing Professionals (OSHPB) or currently have completed the training program and approved application to the OSHPB for appointment as Audiology Aide.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with excellent written and spoken communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills with specific attention to detail, good phone etiquette/customer service skills and the ability to interact with all levels of university and clinic staff; ability to work independently and as part of a team; basic computer proficiency; the desire to provide high-quality, patient-centered care; empathy, and the desire and ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages and caregivers alongside students in Speech Pathology and Audiology following all ethics laws and rules, including HIPAA regulations.
