Job Summary:

The Commuter Center Assistants (CCA's) are responsible for ensuring the Commuter Resource Center (2045 Armstrong) provides a welcoming, resource-rich environment for Miami University's commuter and relocator populations at Miami University. The Commuter Resource Center serves as a space for commuters to connect with each other and build community, and also as a study and meeting space for commuter students.
Average of 7 hours per week

Essential Duties:

* Work with the Armstrong Student Center to support daily operations of the Commuter Resource Center
* Become familiar with the needs of commuting students and answer student inquiries as needed
* Check out lockers and maintain records of locker rentals
* Plan, publicize, implement and assess programs that build community for commuter students
* Communicate updates about events and short articles relevant to commuters
* Support programming for the Commuter's of Miami as needed, communicate with officers about programming for the monthly newsletter
*Hold a minimum of 5 office hours in the Commuter Center to answer questions and provide resources to commuters
*Lead summer orientation and connect with parents and students to explain the commuter experience
* Work assignments require advanced knowledge, skills, or abilities.
* Some independent judgment or initiative.
* A considerable knowledge of the work process as obtained through on-the-job training.
* May involve supervisory responsibilities for an activity of limited scope.
* May require a significant amount of physical exertion, adverse hour, or working conditions.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Miami University commuter student with minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
