Job Summary:

Academic Tutor will provide efficient individual and small group tutoring for student athletes.

Essential Duties:

Academic tutors are responsible for providing individual and small group tutoring for student-athletes. In addition to clarifying course content, tutors help student-athletes integrate effective learning and study strategies and help reinforce course content through guided practice. They must have a demonstrated knowledge of their subject and be sensitive to others' learning difficulties and experiences.
Tutors will keep a record of students who attend sessions and make note of topics covered during sessions and any issues that arise. Tutors will maintain student confidentiality and professionalism.
Other duties could include monitoring evening study table sessions, logging and/or tracking student study table attendance, and assisting with other office responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current Miami student. A customer service focused attitude.
Ability to multi-task as well as work quickly and accurately.
Ability to work independently while also being an excellent team player.
