Job Summary: |
The purpose of the Study Abroad Ambassador program is to increase the visibility of Study Abroad opportunities to the Miami University community. Ambassadors will assist study abroad staff with marketing and outreach. We will be hiring five Study Abroad Ambassadors. Four students will be dedicated to events, presentations, and peer advising, while the fifth student will focus primarily on social media marketing. If you are interested in one of these roles more than the other, please list that information in your cover letter.
Ambassadors can gain: • Enhanced knowledge of international education • Advising and public communication skills • A deeper clarity on what you learned from studying abroad and how to apply it to your future

Essential Duties: |
• Attending recruitment events such as International Education Week, Study Abroad Fair, Make it Miami, classroom visits, admissions events, etc. • Organizing Greek life, residence hall and student organization presentations • Developing print, online, and social media marketing materials • Participating in peer advising • Leading and participating in the Education Abroad Alumni Club • Communicate regularly with students interested in study abroad • Assist the Education Abroad office in preparing and leading • Pre-Departure Orientation, Re-Entry events, and other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: |
• Highly self-motivated student who has strong enthusiasm for study abroad • Comfortable with public speaking and has strong communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members • Must be in good disciplinary standing with a 2.75 or higher GPA • Evening and weekend availability is required • Ambassadors will be expected to attend at least two events per month
