Job Summary:

In support of the Department of Art, this position allows art students to study anatomy.
Work assignments are completed under close supervision.
Procedures are well established.
Employees typically follow well-defined policies and procedures.
Minimal training or prior knowledge of work is required.

Essential Duties:

This is a student position.
-Modeling in painting and drawing classes to allow students to study
anatomy. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE UNCLOTHED. All body types are valuable for our students. Skills and attitudes affect models:
-Professionalism. Dependability is very important because the class cannot
function if you are not present. A good model should have a collaborative
attitude and understand that art students appreciate the contribution the model
makes to their education. We practice a culture of mutual respect.

Minimum Qualifications:

You must be a Miami Student to apply.
The primary skill you will need is the ability to stay still. It is typical to hold poses
for 20 minute intervals between breaks. We expect you to be very still, but
understand that you are not going to stand perfectly still. Long poses consist of
many 20 minute sessions. The best models are those who can be comfortable
and natural.
You will also be required to hold more complicated poses, like a crouching pose,
for short intervals, around 5-7 minutes per pose. Very often in drawing courses,
the model will pose in many variations for short poses before beginning to take
longer poses.
Models find it useful to have a robe and footwear that is easy to take on and off.
Some models bring timers to help them keep track of posing intervals.
