Job Summary:

 

Directly responsible for managing and enhancing all processes within the Office of the University Registrar for Transfer Credit Evaluation/Articulation. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining database (Banner and degree audit) applications pertaining to student records and transfer evaluation/articulations. This professional registrar position is responsible for ensuring accuracy of student academic transfer credit records.

This is a full-time, temporary position located in Oxford, Ohio, with the opportunity for a permanent placement.

This position is approved for remote work on a hybrid basis. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

Provides guidance to faculty, department/division administrators, and students on all campuses to facilitate accurate and appropriate transfer credit evaluations and articulations.
Develops and disseminates ongoing reports and communications. (e.g., XML transcripts, posted transfer work, AP notifications)
Co-manages the maintenance of University articulation tables, including building new articulations, and troubleshoots and resolves articulation issues.
Administers the cycle and process for review of articulations that may be outdated and no longer applicable.
Co-manages the transfer credit appeal process for all campuses.
Serves as University Registrar Office liaison to all regional campus academic departments for transfer credit approvals.
Ensures that transfer evaluations/articulations meet state of Ohio mandates and University policy. Communicates and ensures compliance with mandates and policy across the University.
Co-manages the process for unofficial transfer credit evaluations and notifications.
Co-coordinates testing of Banner, degree audit, Transferology, and the XML applications for upgrades, enhancements, production issues.
Evaluates highly complex international transfer credit.
Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (by employment start date) plus one*/three** years of experience evaluating undergraduate transfer credit and articulating transfer work through a degree audit system integrated with a student information system. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills congruent with collaborative management style.

Normal office environment; may be eligible for hybrid work after fully trained; must be able to travel to regional campuses at least once per week after fully trained.

This position is available to persons who are currently located and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA
This position is not eligible for H1-B Visa or OPT support. It is not eligible for PERM sponsorship.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of a student information system, degree audit system, Microsoft Office (Excel and Microsoft Word), and FERPA.
