Job Summary:

The Program Manager, International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of comprehensive and effective orientation and transition programming for new undergraduate and graduate international students, as well as on-going high-impact programs, activities, and excursions to help international students integrate into the Miami University community. The Program Manager will take the lead on liaising with international student organizations and hiring and training International Peer Orientation Leaders (iPOLs). The Program Manager will also assist with the facilitation of activities and excursions for participants of non-credit international programs.

Duties/Physical Demands:

The Program Manager will be responsible for:

International Student Programming and Orientation
• Coordinate and implement effective programs, activities, and excursions for international students in collaboration with campus partners.
• Assist with the development and execution of program assessments to ensure programs and services are working effectively to support student success and meet goals.
• Serve as International Student Center liaison to international student organizations and facilitate on-going communication and collaboration with student leaders.
• Assist with the development of ISSS communications throughout the year, including the website and e-newsletter series, social media, and printed resources for students.
• Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of orientation program for new international students each fall and spring semester, including ongoing transition programming to further facilitate students’ successful integration into Miami University community.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of International Peer Orientation Leaders to assist with orientation.

Non-Credit International Programs
• Assist with logistical arrangements for Global Partner Summer School (GPSS) and other non-credit international programs.
• Lead activities and excursions for non-credit international student participants.

• Follow university policies and procedures related to purchasing, accounts payable, personnel, payroll, volunteers, payroll, and participant travel.
• This position requires attendance at evening and weekend activities during certain times of the year.
• This position occasionally requires moving items and moderate physical exertion for the setup of events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree and at least 3 years of related experience or 8+ years of related experience; experience with program or event planning; demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of learners and associates.

Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience in program or event planning for international students; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Vietnamese; experience with university systems such as Cvent, Buyway, Banner, Slate, and Canvas.
