Chair & Associate or Full Professor

Job Summary:

The regional campuses seek a Department Chair for the Social & Behavioral Sciences Department to provide academic and administrative leadership and to manage the work of the Department. The department chair leads the strategic initiatives of the department. In addition to teaching, specific duties and responsibilities include: budget oversight; curriculum development and implementation; recruitment and professional development of faculty; recommendations to the Dean for merit-based salary increases; hiring, mentoring and supervision of faculty and staff; scheduling; communication of University and divisional policies and practices to the Department; representation of the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science to the University and broader public. Minimum Qualifications:

Tenured Associate or Full Professor in the College of Liberal Arts & Applied Science at Miami University. An excellent record of accomplishment in teaching, service and research.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with a current appointment in the Social & Behavioral Sciences Department. Administrative experiences suggesting a demonstrated ability to lead an academic department.
