$8.70/hr - $9.65/hr

Job Summary:

The Student Assistant shall help the staff in the Walter Havighurst Special Collections and University Archives complete daily activities and ongoing projects. Ongoing projects can include updating digital collections and processing physical collections.

Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities include: assist patrons with collection materials in the Special Collections & University Archives Reading Room; field reference questions; answer departmental telephone; retrieve and shelve books and materials using the Library of Congress call number system and an in-house archival records system; shift books; organize and index collection materials; use databases and word processing software; assist in classroom setup and tear down; assist in preserving collection materials; digitize and index materials for digital collections; and other duties as assigned.

Students can work up to 10 hours per week (between 9:00am and 4pm, Monday-Friday).

Attention to detail; Ability to multi-task; Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and digitization software; Dependability and reliability.
