This role will seek out, promote and effectively complete career consulting appointments with students, lead presentations, and plan events designed to prepare students for internships and full-time positions..
The Career Advisor/Assistant Director will advance programming and services related to Career Cluster(s) and serve on the Career Development Team within CCES. The annual full-time salary is $42-49,000 for the career advisor title and $49,000-$55,000. Occasional weekend and evening obligations are a component of this position.
This position is campus-based but may have the option to work remotely on a hybrid basis (1-2 days/week) following an introductory period. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.
Candidates meeting the preferred qualifications will be considered for the position title of Assistant Director. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of transferable experience or a Master’s Degree with one year of transferable experience will be considered for Assistant Director title. Miami has developed partnerships with Ridgeway Elementary in Hamilton City School District and with the Oxford Lane Library in an effort to provide support and assistance for children in grades K-3 in the areas of reading, writing, spelling, and vocabulary. No previous tutoring experience is necessary. All College of Education, Health, and Society students can apply.

Responsible for maintaining an assigned vending route on campus. This positions key responsibility is to complete an assigned route daily, including stocking all machines in each building. This is a fast paced work environment. Daily routes can include up to 11-12 buildings and when available part time student help may be available to assist with the route duties during busy periods of the year. This position is assigned duties such as preparing stock and loading products into machines as one of the main functions. Also placing orders, occasionally working in warehouse stocking trucks putting vendor deliveries away, inventory duties and cleaning and maintaining our equipment are also essential parts of the job. Beverage and snack vending is our the focus. This position is responsible for utilizing inventory programs throughout the day to create stocking reports with an I-pad and other systems. This position utilizes I-pads to access necessary website programs and apps to maintain stock in machines throughout the day. This is fast paced route work requires repetitive lifting, getting in and out of a tall truck box and pushing two wheel dollies with significant weight from the truck to stock machines throughout the shift
Hours and days are- 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday with some OT available.
