Ice Intramural Sports and SLM Courses at Miami University

Get involved with one of the largest ice intramural programs in the country! Were you one of the over 5,300 students, faculty/staff, and community members who participated last year or is this the year you start? We offer broomball and hockey leagues for all skill levels and open curling leagues. Broomball is similar to hockey but uses a non-traditional “broom” for a stick, shoes in place of skates, and a ball instead of a puck. Special broomball shoes (rental pairs available) may be used to gain better traction on the ice.

Intramural Leagues & Events

We offer leagues in hockey, broomball, and curling, with opportunities for all skill levels.

  • Broomball is a fast-growing favorite—it’s like hockey but played in shoes with a ball and broom-shaped stick.
  • Watch for special events and tournaments throughout the year.

Miami students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to participate. So get your teams together and register now!
