Job Summary:

 

The Director of Development, Annual Giving will advance the mission of Miami University by planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to increase the level of personal engagement and financial commitment of alumni and friends. Particular emphasis will be given to securing philanthropic and volunteer support for the university’s Annual Fund through digital fundraising channels. This position will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Development, Individual and Annual Giving.

Duties/Physical Demands:

·In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Annual Giving, develop and oversee the digital philanthropy strategy for Miami, including tracking and analyzing campaign results. Provide strategic insights to enhance long-term philanthropic support.

·Stay abreast of trends in digital fundraising and adopt innovative technologies and platforms to enhance digital solicitation strategies.

·Play a key role in planning and executing Miami’s signature one-day online giving event, #MoveInMiami. Coordinate with campus partners and student organizations to build effective crowdfunding pages, acting as a primary contact for selected university divisions and groups to support their fundraising efforts.

·Manage and mentor student worker(s) in creating and maintaining crowdfunding pages, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals.

·Perform daily development office operations, including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.

·Employ data analytics to precisely segment and target donor groups, enhancing personalized communications and donor engagement.

·Manage the CRM system to efficiently track donor interactions, campaign activities, and outcomes, ensuring a streamlined approach to donor management.

·Identify and engage selected alumni using digital strategies, fostering their roles as donors, advocates, and volunteers. Maintain detailed records of engagement efforts and interactions in the database.

·Work closely with the stewardship team to craft digital acknowledgments and engagement strategies for online donors, ensuring a seamless donor experience.

·Conduct research and analyze data to identify opportunities for increasing annual revenues through targeted digital initiatives.

·Work in partnership with the Annual Giving office and other departments crucial to the Development office's success, contributing to planning meetings, special assignments, and the overall support of ongoing programs and operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of three years of related professional experience (volunteer work may be counted towards this requirement).

 

Desired Qualifications:

Previous advancement, annual giving, or marketing experience; experience in an educational setting.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Exhibit outstanding customer service, including strong organizational, written, and verbal skills
