Conference Customer Service Specialist - Student Assistant

Salary/Grade:

$11.30 - $12.30 / hr

Hours per week:

6-22

November 2022, can be renewed

Job Summary:

Provide excellent customer service and support to customers planning their event details.

Expectations:

Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor.

Be punctual for scheduled shifts. Once scheduled, you are responsible for either working the shift or finding an approved substitute. Communicate changes in your availability and requested days off, following deadlines.

Have the willingness to help out when unexpected needs arise.

Thoroughly and concisely communicate information to guests and other staff members.

Limit distractions when working, including visitors to your work area and phone/computer distractions.

Schedule will vary weekly based on office needs.

Hours to include mornings and afternoons.

Essential Duties:

Daily Conference and Event Services (CES) office work to include, but not limited to; answering phone calls, maintaining Ocelot Live Chat customer assistance, inputting catering orders, organizing and distributing event paperwork.

Provide information to guests surrounding their event arrangements at Miami University.

Communicate information with the Conference and Events Services (CES) team.

Solve problems to exceed our customer’s expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Must be enrolled either at Miami University or another University each semester

Prior customer service or conference experience is preferred.
