Job Title: UniDiversity Intercultural Ambassador - Student Associate
Salary/Grade:

$11.45 - $12.45 / hr

Job Summary:

UniDiversity Intercultural Ambassador -Undergraduate Student Worker for Global Initiatives’ Center for American and World Cultures
Are you looking for a job that will expand your intercultural relations and communications experience, your passion for world cultures, your creativity in planning and implementing engaging events, and your marketing and communications skills? This job can be the perfect opportunity!

General Functions:
The undergraduate student works collaboratively with the associate director of Global Initiatives’ Center for American and World Cultures and members of the UniDiversity Program planning committee to promote and implement co-curricular and public outreach activities related to this program. The undergraduate student will also perform clerical tasks, and collaborate with marketing and communications duties.

Essential Duties:

• Serve as Intercultural Ambassador for the Latin American and Caribbean UniDiversity Program.
• Represent the UniDiversity Program to student groups.
• Collaborate with the associate director on the UniDiversity festival operational management, communications, and marketing.
• Attend/participate in the UniDiversity planning committee meetings.
• Compile and organize data for the associate director, and members of the planning committee.
• Collaborate on coordinating festival surveys (implementation, data analysis, representation, and summary results).
• Promote the UniDiversity Program on social media platforms.
• Assist to distribute promotional materials on campus; mailing of posters, and postcards; set-up of sandwich boards, and other promotional materials.
• Escort guest speakers/performers, and serve as an usher.
• Perform general clerical duties.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Assist the associate director, as needed in areas not covered by the above.

Duration of appointment:

Fall semester 2022

Hours per Week:

5-10 hours

Minimum Qualifications:

• Undergraduate at Miami University.
• Openness to working with persons of diverse nationalities, ethnic, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrated computer skills such as Microsoft Word and EXCEL.
• Effective interpersonal and oral/written English-speaking communication skills and experience.
• Flexibility to complete tasks as assigned.
• Interest in issues related to cultural diversity, intercultural relations/communications, global affairs, civic engagement.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated computer skills in PowerPoint, Formstack, and Marketing Software.
• Foreign language: Spanish/Portuguese (reading, some speaking, and writing).
• Experience in performing arts management.
