Job Summary: |
Engineering & Computing College: The Systems Administrator provides hands-on Level 2/3 support and management of servers and workstations for the College of Engineering and Computing.

Duties/Physical Demands: |
The Systems Administrator’s duties require a high degree of independence and ability to make mission critical decisions.
• Provides administrative, technical, and client support to desktop systems, including break/fix, hardware setup and installation, software installation, and hardware support. • Supports classrooms and labs, monitors technology refresh, helps with install and real time support. • Assists faculty with specifying, purchasing, and identifying new technology for their research and teaching. • Main point of contact for specifying, purchasing, and tracking new purchases for desktops and servers. • Server administration, including specifying, ordering, installing, patching and maintaining. • Creates software images and deploy software to all CEC desktops and servers.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Required: Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or associate's degree in a computer related field plus 3-5 years relevant experience; or associate's degree in any field plus 6-10 years relevant experience; minimum one year of experience working with Linux Systems; minimum one year of experience working with Windows Servers, basic window installation and administration; active directory, basic network administrative skills, and system support.

Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others and serve a diverse population; possess effective organizational skills; experience with Puppet or Ansible; experience with AWS; experience with VMware vSphere; experience with bash scripting; experience with AD and Group Policies; experience packaging windows software for SCCM and JAMF.
