Job Title: MADE @ Miami Peer Leader Student Assistant
Salary/Grade:

$9.30/ hour

Duration of Appointment:

August 14, 2022 through August 18, 2022

Hours per week:

Approximately 40 hours for the one week MADE@Miami Program.

Job Summary:

MADE@Miami is a two-day, pre-semester program. MADE is designed to bring together first-year students of color, international students, LGBTQ+ identifying students, and Miami Access scholars in order to prepare them for life at Miami. The program begins before the rest of the first-years arrive, allowing students to build relationships, learn about campus resources, and develop a stronger sense of self. MADE is organized around four values that matter to the Miami community: Mentoring, Achievement, Diversity, and Excellence. We endeavor to send two important messages: You belong here at Miami, and We are here for you.

MADE@Miami will take place from Tuesday, August 16, 2022 to Thursday, August 18, 2022.

 

Work assignments are completed under close supervision.
Procedures are well established.
Employees typically follow well-defined policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student in good standing at Miami University (both academically and disciplinary).

Demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative skills.

Show a commitment to diversity by accepting and learning from others while creating and maintaining an atmosphere of positive engagement.

Have strong communication and organizational skills and contribute positively in a team environment.

Attend required training on August 14, 2022 and August 15, 2022. (NOTE: Peer Leaders who live on-campus can move-in on August 13, 2022.)

Be present for the entirety of MADE @ Miami 2022: Tuesday, August 16, 2022 to Thursday, August 18, 2022.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Participation in MADE @ Miami as an incoming first-year student. (Preferred but not required.)
