Job Title:

Sr Library Technician

Salary/Grade:

$16.90 hr/G2

Job Summary:

 

Performs complex to advanced administrative and clerical tasks related to overseeing and monitoring the operations of a library division.

 

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

 

● Provides circulation and technical assistance at main and branch libraries.
● Assists in backing up core library services.
● Monitors and reviews operations of unit; ensures smooth work flow; enforces policies and procedures; ensures work product meets professional standards.
● Serves as informational resource to staff; investigates and resolves problems or difficulties related to area of expertise.
● Assists Library patrons; answers inquiries and provides information.
● Oversees student employees by scheduling and assigning tasks; monitors performance to ensure deadlines and applicable standards are met.
● Prepares various reports regarding operations.
● Maintains inventory of supplies and reorders as necessary.
Work Hours/Schedule: Sundays-Thursdays 12pm-9pm; Hours may vary during holidays, semester breaks and summer sessions, and may flex to ensure coverage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires eighteen to twenty-four months of coursework or training beyond high school and three years of library experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with:
Previous work experience utilizing, or other evidence of, strong organizational, written and verbal communication, customer service, and supervisory skills.
