Job Title: Data and Planning Analyst

 $68,000 - $85,000

Job Summary:

Data and Planning Analyst supports the Farmer School of Business executive leadership team in the strategic use of data for decision making. The successful candidate will: Strategically identify and use data sources to build data products such as reports, dashboards and analyses to support strategic decision-making; Support the collection, storage, querying, and manipulation of data for strategic analysis; Analyze data sets and forecast enrollment demand, expense and revenue generation, and other reports as needed by the executive leadership team; Develop methods to ensure quality of data and reporting; Collaborate with the executive leadership team to identify and prioritize data projects to support strategic decision making; Act as liaison to the Miami University community regarding data storage, data quality, data reporting, and data analysis; May supervise multiple student workers depending on assigned projects. Emphasis will be on reporting and analysis as it relates to personnel, student success, scheduling, external reporting (accreditation, rankings, etc.), and internal reporting (operational health, enrollment management, etc.)

Duties/Physical Demands:

The Data and Planning Analyst will collaborate with the dean’s staff and department chairs to identify and prioritize data projects to support strategic decision making; Manage, control, and manipulate large data sets to generate reports in a wide variety of areas as needed by FSB leadership using information drawn from Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Banner tables, and other databases; Build analyses, reports and dashboard to support strategic decision making and forecasting; Develop and maintain internal databases; Develop methods to ensure quality and integrity of data and statistical reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in closely related field and at least five years of professional related/relevant experience. Experience with higher education data systems, data sources, policies and reporting; Fluent in a programming language used to query databases, such as SQL; Experience managing projects. Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience locating data and building reports in the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Fluent in Tableau and/or PowerBI; Experience with Banner tables; Experience collaborating with executive leadership.
