Job Title: Community Liaison
Job Summary:

Community Liaison is responsible for the relationships with students, OTR, and Miami University.

Duties/Physical Demands:

• Interview candidates for the Residency Program prior to their acceptance.
• Meet with candidates for the Residency Program at a spring orientation meeting. (4 hours)
• Suggest and communicate summer readings for Residency Program cohort and community participants.
• Provide periodic welcoming emails and similar communications with the incoming Residency Program students prior to their arrival.
• Organize and facilitate the student orientation that occurs at the onset of the Residency Program (currently in the Fall Semester).
• Lead weekly non-credit reflection and journaling session for students in the Residency Program.
• Identify and manage student placements with community organizations
• Identify volunteer and service activities in the community for Miami Residency Program students, to supplement their curricular activities.
• Assist with collaboration and communication between community organizations and Miami University Center for Community Engagement.
• Advise Miami University Center for Community Engagement faculty and collaborators about the best means of engagement for mutual benefit.
• Maintain connections and correspondence with Miami University Residency Program alumni.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and 10+ years’ experience in working in community-based programs on higher education. This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylee, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)
