Job Summary: |
Seeking multiple Student Career Ambassadors to support Career Services & Professional Development offices on the Middletown & Hamilton campuses. These student employee positions will work to serve as peer advisors to students regarding job search skills, and will be supervised by the Regional Assistant Director of Career Development.
Responsibilities:
Clerical functions / Ability to operate office equipment Answer incoming calls, greet students for appointments and walk-ins Qualified candidates to provide peer advising of resumes, and other career related topics Prepare materials for workshops or events Assist professional office staff as needed Communication and marketing task as assigned Update/maintain student and employer databases Other duties as assigned to meet departmental needs

Essential Duties: |
* Provide peer advising for job search skills (i.e. resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and job search strategies) for Miami University Regionals students * Prepare materials for job search workshops or presentations * Answer incoming calls, greet students for appointments and walk-ins * Some clerical functions / ability to operate office equipment (copy machine, shredder, mobile video carts, etc.) * Assist professional office staff as needed * Assist with posting social media messages as needed * Other duties as assigned to meet departmental needs

Minimum Qualifications: |
Education/Qualifications Required:
Must be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours at Miami University Regionals during the academic year Must have a minimum 2.50 GPA Confidentiality is a must to comply with Federal Privacy laws Open to all majors, an interest in career development is a plus Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Docs, and willing to learn other software programs Appropriate verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and work from verbal or written instructions Dependable and creative Must be appropriately dressed to represent a professional work environment Will work around students course schedule, but must have some availability Monday – Thursday, between the hours of 11am – 4pm

Preferred Qualifications: |
Student has prior experience working with the Career Services & Professional Development office, improving career and professional related skills Student has basic skills in writing and critiquing resumes and job search.
