Career Advising & Assessment Graduate Student - Regionals - Student Master 1 Grad

Salary/Grade:

10.00/hr - 11.10/hr

Job Summary:

To assist Career Services & Professional Development at the Regional campuses with advising incoming students concerning choosing a major, and/or discovering a career path that fits them best. Also, assist with program, services, and event assessment.

Graduate students with an assistantship and Teaching Associates need to obtain permission from the Graduate School to work in addition to their teaching/assistantship.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with New Student Orientation program by administering MyMajors assessments and helping students interpret results for choosing a Miami University major
• Assess programming, events, and services regarding effectiveness and scope
• Develop assessment surveys
• Collect data
• Analyze data and make recommendations for improvement when applicable
• Produce monthly and bi-annual reports
• Present reports during department team meetings
• Assist with Career Services events (e.g., career fairs, etiquette dinners, career community information panels, new student orientation, etc.) as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate student pursuing a degree in Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Student Affairs in Higher Education, or related field of study
• Counseling skills to help undergraduates discover a chosen career path
• Knowledge of career exploration assessment tools (e.g., MyMajors, Focus2, Self-Directed Search, Myers-Briggs Type Inventory, etc.)
• Ability to assess programs, services, events, and produce analytical reports
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed two semesters of a related graduate school program
