Job Title: Student Associate - Office of Diversity and Inclusion
Salary/Grade:

8.80/hr - 9.80/hr

Job Summary:

The Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion is looking for students who are passionate about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work on Miami University’s campus. Student Interns responsibilities include customer service, marketing, and program planning and implementation, which may include collaboration with campus and community partner. The position involves general office task and secondary support for staff within the Center.

Essential Duties:

Provide support to signature events sponsored by The Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion - for example: MADE@ Miami, Welcome Receptions, Clothesline Project, National Coming Out Day, Horizon Graduation, and Lavender Graduation, Cultural History Months, Multicultural Leadership Conference, and the Safe Zone Program.

Contribute ideas to new programming initiatives and create and facilitate student led programs.

Coordinate and collaborate with student organizations, and various campus and community partners to develop and support programming initiatives.

Communicate with various populations for event ideas and community needs.

Sit on internal office planning committees.

Design flyers, brochures, bulletin boards, and other marketing materials.

Contribute content for The Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion website and various social media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a currently enrolled Miami Oxford student in good academic standing - (2.5 GPA).

Passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion and comfortable speaking and interacting with a diverse range of patrons and constituents.

Open and accepting attitude towards diverse populations and viewpoints including but not limited to racial and ethnic minorities, gender and sexual minorities, and religious minorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated capability to multitask, stay organized, pay attention to detail, stay motivated without constant supervision, and communicate clearly.

Social media and digital outreach skills.
