Medical Director, PA Program

Job Summary:

Serves as an advocate for the Physician Assistant Program within the medical community and provides continuous, competent medical guidance for the curriculum of the PA program, to ensure that the material and procedures are compliant with federal, state, and local laws and preserves the standard of care.

Duties:

Duties will include but are not limited to: student selection process, including recruitment; program development and evaluation; promotion of the program and the profession within the medical community; review and revise medical content where appropriate; promote and engage the ongoing development and evaluation of clinical training site to assure quality experience for the students; work closely with the clinical director in the development and evaluation of supervised clinical practice sites; work closely with the clinical director in the development and evaluation of supervised clinical practice sites; provide supervised clinical practice opportunities for students where possible; perform any other responsibilities delegated by the PA Program Director and/or the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications:

M.D./D.O. and current certification by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board (Practice in a Primary Care Specialty Desired); and current licensure in the State of Ohio are required. Demonstration of ethical practice in accordance with standards of care. Exceptional communication skills, knowledge of educational practices and processes.

This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to candidates with prior work with or teaching physician assistants and a minimum two years of clinical experience are preferred.
