Instrumentation Specialist

Job Summary:

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance/Mass Spectroscopy (NMR/MS) instrumentation facility manager in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Miami University, Oxford, OH.

Duties:

Manage, administer, instruct, train, and maintain an instrumentation facility for NMR researchers. The department has several NMR spectrometers operating up to 850 MHz and several MS instruments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field by date of appointment. Expertise in the area of NMR spectroscopy.

This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with MS instrumentation is desired. Preference will be given to applicants with experience managing an instrumentation facility, maintaining a liquid He recovery system, and training students.
