Job Summary:

The Undergraduate Research Assistant (URA) will assist in handling geospatial data, such as Lidar and other remote sensing data, using ArcGIS, Erdas Imagine, and/or other similar imagery process software. This URA will also facilitate research-related activities, such as reviewing and summarizing literature. The student in this position will be paid hourly. The position also offers 3 credit-hours for a Geospatial Research Internship if needed.

Responsibilities include 1) collecting, organizing, and analyzing geospatial data; 2) collecting and reviewing the literature on ecosystem services and disaster resilience; and 3) facilitating other research-related activities.


Minimum Qualifications:

The position requires previous experience with GIS and geodata processing, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and ArcGIS, and the ability to follow instructions precisely and work systematically. Good writing skills.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Experience and skills in a programming language (such as R or Python) are preferable but not required.
